Birchbox Review – January 2016

image

Birchbox was the first subscription box I bought almost two years ago, and to be honest it’s still one of my favourites. So I was really happy when this popped through the letterbox!

This month’s Birchbox is inspired by Pinterest – the place to find ideas, beauty tutorials, recipes to travel inspiration to inspire you for the year ahead. Included in this month’s box are 5 exclusively illustrated cards by Viktorija Semjonova and 5 beauty treats to kick off 2016 in style.

Benefit | They’re Real Tinted Primer

The perfect solution for supercharged lashes, one coat makes all the difference, the light brown formulation separates, lengthens and boosts every lash ready for your usual mascara. It really does make a huge difference, lashes are defined and lengthened with no clumping or smudging, it is also great to wear alone for a  natural look.

Jelly Pong Pong | Lighten Up Brightener and Waterliner

I am very impressed with this multi-tasking brightening pencil. When used along your waterline it instantly lifts your eyes making you look wide awake, and when blended just below your brows it just seals your eye make-up game perfectly, simply gorgeous. You can also blend onto your cheeks as a highlighter if you want to get the most from your pencil.

Whish | Three Wishes Almond Body Butter

Whish products contain a triple antioxidant based formula containing organic aloe, organic raspberry butter and organic Shea butter creating an indulgent body cream, with no greasiness. This body lotion softens and soothes leaving your skin silky smooth.

Parlor | Moisturising & Repairing Shampoo and Conditioner

I’ve not had chance to test these as yet, but I’m happy to tell you what the marketing bumpf says. The lightweight formulas cleanse, condition and strengthen your hair repairing any damage at the same time. They smell of the brand’s signature scent of ripe peach and freshly-cut grass.

Doux Me | Comforting Face Mask and Exfoliator

This is a great little product, it not only sloughs away dead skin cells as a gentle exfoliator, but works perfectly as a nourishing mask for the most sensitive skin, calming and comforting.  Containing apricot oil, roman chamomile and marshmallow extract it boosts antioxidant levels to make your skin look amazing whilst nourishing you skin deep down.

Birchbox | Compact Mirror

As an extra treat this month Birchbox have included a #nofilter compact mirror, you can never have enough compact mirrors. It’s a great addition and ties-in nicely with this month’s theme.

This month’s box showcases a good variety of products from make-up, skincare to haircare, teaming up with Pinterest is a great start to the year, helping to kickstart and changes you gave been considering. To subscribe visit the Birchbox website.

Thanks, yes I have Glossybox too, I do like it but always get more use from my Birchbox samples. But you do get more full sized products with Glossybox. If you’re disappointed with one box the other always cheers you up 😀
Glossybox review will be live tomorrow… I’m a bit behind, oops.

For £10 a month plus p&p you can’t really beat Glossybox or Birchbox. For a little extra £18.99 plus p&p the Look Incredible box was great value – but that was my first box.
To help you decide have a look at http://whichbeautyboxuk.com is was the blog that inspired me to create my own – she has review form the past 12 months for all boxes so may also help you pick the one that suits you best – I do have a soft spot for Birchbox, if you compete the surveys you earn points to spend online 🙂
Good luck, let me know what you decide xx
