Birchbox Review – February 2016

image

Following on from last month’s theme, Best Year Ever, Birchbox are keeping up the positive vibes and reminding you just how brilliant you are – as bright as a diamond! February also sees the launch of their new global in-house beauty line Love of Colour (LOC). So here goes…

Love of Color (LOC) | One and Done Shadow Stick in Champagne Problems

I selected the silver-toned shadow stick, which is a wonderful hue. It claims to last up to 11 hours offering creaseless, waterproof colour in one handy stick. I can’t confirm the full 11 hours but it certainly lasted on my evening out, it didn’t fade, smudge or crease, so I was pretty impressed. RRP £8.00

Spectrum Collections | Tapered Powder Brush

Wow, there are a few colours in this hand- finished brush! It is a beautifully soft brush and works great with my setting powder, also perfect for use with highlighters or bronzes. RRP £7.99

Korres | Milk Proteins 3-in-1 Cleansing Emulsion

Suitable for all skin types – even sensitive skin – this gentle formula cleanses, tones and removes make-up with a blend of milk proteins and naturally kind to skin oils. It does live up to its claims, but it did leave my skin feeling heavy and claggy, I ended up using an additional toner to freshen my skin before moisturising. RRP £15.00

The Balm Cosmetics | Frat Boy Blush/Shadow

This is a lovely peachy shade that doubles as blusher or eyeshadow, personally I love the shade on my eyes, lightens and brightens. It also adds a pretty rosy glow to the apples of your cheeks – a great all rounder if you’re travelling light. RRP £15.50

Number 4 | Lumiere d’Hiver Super Comb Prep and Protect

Treat your hair to some TLC, spray evenly through towel dried hair, comb through and style as normal. This product de-tangles and tames flyaway hair while strengthening and repairing tired hair – it certainly helps your brush glide effortlessly through your hair. RRP £20.00

Derm Eyes | Make-Up Remover Wipes

Completely removes all traces of eye-make, the super-soft fabric cleanses and hydrates the delicate eye area without irritation. These hypoallergenic cleansing wipes are perfect for sensitive peepers. RRP £9.50
